NARENDRA MODI

Prime Minister of India

On 26th May 2014, Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India, becoming the first ever Prime Minister to lead a single party into clear majority after three decades in India. Dynamic, dedicated and determined, he mirrors the aspiration and hope of over a billion Indians.

Since he assumed office, Prime Minister Modi has embarked on a journey of all-round and inclusive development. A key focus area to realise this vision is the promotion of entrepreneurship. Through innovative ideas and initiatives such as Start-up India, PM Modi and his government have ensured that the wheels of progress and entrepreneurship move at a rapid pace and the fruits of development reach every citizen.

Providing unparalleled support to the Start-up movement in India, his government is aiming to earmark loopholes in the Indian economy that are preventing the flourishing of start-ups in India. Under the Prime Minister’s able leadership, the government is nurturing, mentoring and facilitating start-ups throughout their life cycle. Start-up India Hub, a unique platform that will address entrepreneurs’ requirements, identifies the right mentors, incubators, accelerators and investors, has also been launched. In keeping with his drive to create a tech-savvy and digitally able India, the entire start-up India hub machinery can be accessed on a mobile application as a holistic one-stop ecosystem for start-ups.

Another milestone in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission towards an enterprising India was the launch of the Make in India initiative. With the primary goal of making India a global manufacturing hub, the Make in India campaign is facilitating job creation, fostering innovation, enhancing skill development and protecting intellectual property. The start-up movement coupled with myriad revolutionary initiatives like Jan Dhan Yojana, Shramev Jayate, Digital India Mission, has placed India on the world map as an enterprising and innovative nation.

Narendra Modi’s foreign policy initiatives have ensured that the international focus is back on India. Leading world leaders have visited India since his tenure began and India’s ties with nations across the world have seen some breakthroughs in improved coordination and collaboration. Narendra Modi has grown on to be seen as a ‘People’s Leader’, dedicated to solving their problems and improving their well being.
