GIST Catalyst Pitch Competition
The Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Initiative is holding a live pitch competition during the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad, India November 28-30. The GIST Catalyst pitch competition will include featured startups from India, the United States and other countries from around the world. Through the competition, young entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to elevate their pitch and showcase the startups they are working on. Teams will also learn how to pitch their business ideas to investors and potential partners—a critical skill for entrepreneurs.
Startups competing in GIST Catalyst are from the four focus industries of the GES, which are Energy and Infrastructure, Health and Life Sciences, Financial Tech and the Digital Economy, and Media and Entertainment. During the GES, startup teams will give three minute pitches, without slides, to a small panel of judges followed by two to three minutes of questions.
In order to get to the live semifinals at the 2017 GES, GIST Catalyst competitors must first win the competition’s public vote. Happening right now until 12:01 a.m. GMT on November 24, the public vote encourages people all over the world to vote once a day, every day, for their favorite startup team. The teams with the most votes will advance to the semifinals in India.
Given the high-quality startups attending GES 2017, the GIST Catalyst pitch competition will become an avenue to highlight up-and-coming entrepreneurs at the GES. To learn more about GIST Catalyst pitch competition and how to participate, click here.
